Together with Austrian partners DanCell conducted a nationwide feasibility study for the roll-out of a CDMA2000 network using spectrum in the 450MHz frequency band network made available by the Austrian. The study qualified Nordisk Mobiltelefon to bid for the license and also proved the viability of providing green broadband in the Austria using the technology.

The study shows that a green, mobile broadband may indeed be both technically and financially viable in Austria providing broadband access in every part of the country and potentially improving quality of life by allowing people to live and work effectively everywhere in the country while at the same time reducing road traffic by an estimated 10-15% providing a positive contribution to the Austrian objective to reduce pollution from car emissions.
